Equity can refer to:
General
- Equity (law), a branch of jurisprudence in common law jurisdictions.
This is really a term of English law and is used when someone is taking unfair advantage of a rule, usually in bad faith. There are various rules of equity, the best known being “He who comes to equity must do so with clean hands”- in other words, if you are trying to obtain a legal remedy against someone who has done something wrong to you, you must have behaved honestly and fairly yourself.
- In many political and legal systems, a concept encompassing ideals of justice (fairness) and/or equality
- Equalism, a philosophy promoting the equality of sexes, genders, and races
